Weekend Roundup: Farewell Sarah!

Well, it appears that my time with Hodderscape is at an end.
That’s right, this weekend I threw all my worldly possessions into a van and taking a train North of the Wall.
No, I’m not taking the Black, I’m moving to Scotland! Edinburgh to be precise!
As exciting as that is, it unfortunately means that I will be leaving Hodder & Stoughton and thus Hodderscape. I’ve absolutely loved my time here; being able to share my passion for horror, fantasy and sci-fi has been a fantastic experience and I really am sad to be leaving. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s tweeted at us, liked us on Facebook or commented on one of our blog posts… You’re all fantastic!
That’s not to say I’ll be gone forever, you may see the odd guest blog from me from time to time, and you can always follow me on Twitter at @pikapies.
I’m also really excited to properly introduce you to Fleur Clarke, the brilliant Buffy expert who will be taking over from my social media-y duties! Take it away Fleur…
It’s sad to see Sarah go, and her boots (frequently big and buckled) will be hard to fill. But, it’s great to join such a wonderful community, and to put to use hours spent in front of books and television screens, learning about alternate universes and fantastical beasts in lieu of actual life skills.
Because Sarah did such a brilliant job, a complete regime change is not in order, so expect to see lots more of the same: competitions and giveaways, reviews, recommendations, posts from your favourite authors and exclusive insider info straight from the Hodderscape desks. In the upcoming weeks we have lots of exciting things for you, including the build-up to the much-anticipated release of The Violent Century , the chance for you to tell our fantastic Editorial Intern Sharan what to read and, of course, Halloween…
I look forward to reading more from you as well. More great reviews from our ongoing Review Project, more short stories (look out for the winner of our A Night At The Compasses competition this week!), and more laughs via Twitter. If you’d like to write an opinion piece or review (or some as yet unclassified general musing) drop me an email and I can send you more information. If there’s something you’d like to see more of on the blog, or if you just want to chat, leave us a comment below!
