Merry Christmas from Hodderscape! You’ve been lovely all month – thank you so much for reading and for your support this year!

2013 was a wild year for us; we redesigned our logo and launched our brand-new blog… but we’re not done yet! Today we’ll be telling you about a few things we’ve got lined up for 2014, and on New Year’s Eve we’ll share our schedule of forthcoming SFF publications. For, as much as we published this year, we’ve got even more coming out next year.

First, we’ve acquired two more fantastic novels, and though we can’t tell you about them quite yet, we’re going to tease you a little… Our first acquisition will be publishing on 1 May. It’s an extraordinary debut novel from a writer of incredible talent (and who has worked on the Human Genome Project – you know, in his spare time). We’ll be revealing all, including the spectacular  cover, in January. But here’s a little something to whet your appetite:

And, also in early January, we’ll be announcing our second acquisition, a YA series from an author you may already know. We can’t tell you much yet, but let us assure you, we couldn’t be more excited.

Secondly, we’ll be tweaking the Hodderscape site design just a teensy bit, to make it even better…

Thirdly, we’ve got quite a lot of activity planned for next year. We’ll be attending as many conventions as we can, including Nine Worlds, WorldCon, EuroCon and FantasyCon, and hopefully many more. And we’ll be encouraging as many of our authors to come as possible – the more the merrier!

One of our authors, Daniel Polansky, will be publishing the first in an entirely new series late next year. To celebrate this publication, and to give everyone a little insight into the publishing process, we’ve created the Polansky Project. We’ll be following the first book in the series from manuscript to publication, with photos, interviews, blog posts and articles from everyone involved. It’ll be a wild ride!

We’ll also be making #askaneditor a weekly event. In case you missed it, Oliver and I spent an hour on Twitter each Friday of November answering questions about the editorial process. It was so successful, and so much fun, that we’re making it a regular thing. Every Friday, from 11 to 12, just tweet your question with the hashtag #hoddereditor and we’ll answer!

We’re also planning some themed month-long activity, including a month spent highlighting diversity in SFF and Dinovember. You can keep your Movembers; just leave us with the T-Rex!

So, as you can see, we’ve got a huge year planned. Tune in on December 31st to find out what all we’ll be publishing in 2014… and don’t forget to grab a copy of Nunslinger, which publishes tomorrow! (Remember, book one is free, free, free!)

And, last of all, thanks for helping make 2013 so fantastic. We couldn’t do it without you!
