FantasyCon 2015: Hodderscape Authors and Activities

The British Fantasy Society’s annual convention, FantasyCon, kicks off this weekend in Nottingham. And loads of us will be there! After the jump you’ll find the complete Hodderscape schedule, featuring Anne Perry, John Connolly, Lavie Tidhar, Matt Blakstad, Rebecca Levene, Scott Andrews and the mysterious Stark Holborn. If you see us, give us a wave!


3.00 – John Connolly (guest of honour) will be helping to oversee the opening ceremony. Conference Theatre.

4.20 – Scott K. Andrews will be reading from Second Lives, the sequel to TimeBomb. Suite 4a.

5.00 – Rebecca Levene will be a panelist on the Writing a Franchise panel (which also features Brandon Sanderson). Conference Theatre.

6.00 – John Connolly will be discussing character creation with other authors. Conference Theatre.

7.00 – Stark Holborn will be discussing the Western, past and present, with Anne Perry moderating. Suite 2.

7.oo – Lavie Tidhar will be launching the PS Publishing limited edition of A Man Lies Dreaming.


10.00 – John Connolly will be holding a kaffeeklatsch. Space will be strictly limited, so keep an eye out for the signup sheet. Suite 4a.

11.00 – John Connolly and Matt Blakstad will be discussing the use of crime in SFF/Horror. Conference Theatre.

1.00 – John Connolly will be signing in the Dealer Room.

2.40 – Rebecca Levene will be reading (hopefully from Hollow Gods 3!). Suite 4a.

3.00 – Anne Perry will be moderating a panel about agenting, from pitch to deal and beyond. Suite 1.

4.00 – Scott K. Andrews and John Connolly will be discussing the whys and hows of YA. Suite 1.

4.00 – Lavie Tidhar will be launching Best New Horror # 26.

5.00 – Anne Perry will be discussing the present and future of genre publishing on the panel Genre Publishing in the 21st century. Conference Theatre.

5.00 – John Connolly will be in conversation with Sarah Pinborough. Suite 1.

7.00 – John Connolly will be appearing on the FantasyCon staple gameshow Just a Minute. Conference Theatre.

11.00 – Matt Blakstad will be reading from Sockpuppet. Suite 4a.


10.00 – John Connolly will be discussing religion and belief in fantasy fiction. Suite 1.

11.20  – John Connolly will be giving a reading. Suite 4a.

2.30 – British Fantasy Awards. Please join us in celebrating all the nominees, including:

  • Sarah Lotz, up for Best Newcomer.
  • Lavie Tidhar, for Best Collection (for Black Gods Kiss) and Best Fantasy Novel (for A Man Lies Dreaming).
  • Sarah Anne Langton (who designed our mascot Pickwick), for best artist.
