Dodo crafts? What a fantastic idea, I hear you cry. As many of you are probably aware, our logo is inspired by Pickwick the delightfully domesticated dodo from Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series. It was created by the wonderful Sarah Anne Langton. If you’d like to try your hand at cloning a dodo of your very own, here are a few dodo crafts. Get cloning!
Dodo Crafts – Build a LEGO dodo
That there on the left, that’s the Sistine Chapel of dodo LEGO, but those on the right? You can totally make one of those. Then you can rustle up a few more and make them dance:
Dodo Crafts – Crochet a dodo
This crocheted dodo is adorable. Full instructions and patterns can be found here. Here’s that tutorial put to good use by a devoted Fforde Ffan.
Dodo Crafts – Hatch a dodo on Minecraft
If you’re more comfortable with a mouse than a needle, then the answer is clearly: Minecraft dodo! See a dodo romping around Minecraft here.
Dodo Crafts – Make a dodo sock puppet
Clone your own Ffordian dodo using socks (and a few other things) with this tutorial. Once you’re done, whip up a batch of marshmallows to keep your dodo merrily plocking along.
Dodo Crafts – Sew a dodo
This is a dodo with attitude. It plocks when it wants and to whomever it wants. We approve.
Our Pickwick was created by the wonderful Sarah Anne Langton and you can learn more about how Pickwick was hatched (and see her in a few fun costumes) here.
Have you seen or made a dodo craft? Tell us about it in the comments below.
